Human Fibronectin recombinant protein (Active) (His-tagged, C-ter) for SDS-PAGE

Overview

Product Description E. coli expressed, His-tagged (C-ter) Active Human Fibronectin recombinant protein
Tested Application SDS-PAGE
Target Name Fibronectin
Species Human
Expression System E. coli
Activity Active
Activity Note Determined by the ability of the immobilized protein to support the adhesion of B16‑F1 mouse melanoma cells. The ED50 for this effect is less than 100 ng/mL.
Alternate Names Fibronectin 1; FN; FN1; CIG; FINC; FNZ; MSF; GFND; GFND2; LETS

Properties

Form Powder
Purification Note Endotoxin level is<0.1 EU/µg of the protein, as determined by the LAL test.
Purity > 95% (by SDS-PAGE)
Buffer 50 mM Tris and 150 mM NaCl (pH 8.0)
Reconstitution It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile water to a concentration not less than 200 μg/mL and incubate the stock solution for at least 20 min at room temperature to make sure the protein is dissolved completely.
Storage Instruction For long term, lyophilized protein should be stored at -20°C or -80°C. After reconstitution, aliquot and store at -20°C or -80°C for up to one month. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Suggest spin the vial prior to opening.
Note For laboratory research only, not for drug, diagnostic or other use.

Bioinformation

Gene Symbol FN1
Gene Full Name Fibronectin 1
Background This gene encodes fibronectin, a glycoprotein present in a soluble dimeric form in plasma, and in a dimeric or multimeric form at the cell surface and in extracellular matrix. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature protein. Fibronectin is involved in cell adhesion and migration processes including embryogenesis, wound healing, blood coagulation, host defense, and metastasis. The gene has three regions subject to alternative splicing, with the potential to produce 20 different transcript variants, at least one of which encodes an isoform that undergoes proteolytic processing. The full-length nature of some variants has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]
Function Fibronectins bind cell surfaces and various compounds including collagen, fibrin, heparin, DNA, and actin. [UniProt]
