Bioinformation
| Background | Penton base is a structural capsid protein of fowl adenoviruses. It forms the vertex capsomer and associates with projecting fiber proteins to assemble the penton complex. The penton base is distinct from hexon, the major non-vertex capsid protein. Its presence across fowl adenoviruses makes it an antigenic target for studying viral protein expression and antibody recognition across serotypes. |
