Application Instructions

Application Suggestion
Tested Application Dilution
Application Note Specific for the ~65k Munc18-1 protein phosphorylated at Ser241. Immunolabeling is blocked by the treatment of the lysate with lambda phosphatase (30 minutes, 800 units / 1 mg protein).
* The dilutions indicate recommended starting dilutions and the optimal dilutions or concentrations should be determined by the scientist.

Form Liquid
Purification Affinity Purified
Buffer 10 mM HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 0.1 mg/ml BSA and 50% Glycerol
Stabilizer 0.1 mg/ml BSA, 50% Glycerol
Storage Instruction For continuous use, store undiluted antibody at 2-8°C for up to a week. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Suggest spin the vial prior to opening. The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.

Gene Symbol STXBP1
Gene Full Name syntaxin binding protein 1
Background Munc-18 (mammalian homologue of Unc-18) is a protein that is thought to be involved in regulating exocytosis due, at least in part, to it ability to bind syntaxin (Ciufo et al., 2005). Munc18-1 is a neuron-specific member of the Sec1/Munc18 protein family that binds to syntaxin1A and is thought to stabilize the complex (Liu et al., 2004). The function of Munc18-1 is thought to be regulated by phosphorylation.
Research Area Cancer antibody; Metabolism antibody; Neuroscience antibody
Calculated MW 68 kDa

Western blot: Mouse hippocampus lysate showing specific immunolabeling of the ~65k Munc18-1 protein phosphorylated at Ser 241 stained with ARG52342 anti-Munc18-1 phospho (Ser241) antibody.
Phosphospecificity is shown in the second lane where immunolabeling is blocked by treatment of the lysate with lambda phosphatase (P-tase).
