arigoPLEX® Multiplex ELISA for MMP Profiling

arigoPLEX® Multiplex ELISA for MMP Profiling — simultaneous quantification of MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, and MMP-9 for ECM remodeling, inflammation, and disease progression research

What Are Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMPs)?

Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a family of zinc-dependent endopeptidases that play essential roles in extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling, tissue repair, inflammation, angiogenesis, and disease progression. Dysregulated MMP activity is implicated in numerous pathological conditions, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurodegeneration, arthritis, fibrosis, and inflammatory disorders. Among the MMP family, MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, and MMP-9 stand out as clinically significant biomarkers due to their central involvement in ECM degradation and inflammatory signaling pathways.

Biological Functions of MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3 and MMP-9

Diagram illustrating the key functions of four MMP biomarkers: MMP-1 (Collagen Degradation), MMP-2 (Basement Membrane and Angiogenesis), MMP-3 (MMP Activation Hub), and MMP-9 (Inflammation and BBB Dysfunction)

MMP-1 Collagenase-1

  • Cleaves collagen I/II/III
  • Tissue remodeling
  • Fibrosis research

MMP-2 Gelatinase A

  • Basement membrane degradation
  • Promotes angiogenesis
  • Tumor microenvironment research

MMP-3 Stromelysin-1

  • Activates other MMPs
  • Connective tissue turnover
  • Fibrosis staging

MMP-9 Gelatinase B

  • Immune cell migration
  • Tumor invasion
  • Blood-brain barrier damage

Simultaneous Detection of MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3 and MMP-9

The arigoPLEX® Human MMP Multiplex ELISA Kit (ARG83825) enables the simultaneous quantitative detection of MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, and MMP-9 in a wide range of biological samples such as serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants.

This multiplex ELISA kit delivers exceptional sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility for the simultaneous quantification of these critical MMP biomarkers in a single experiment. The kit is suitable for applications in biomarker discovery, disease mechanism studies, drug development, and translational research involving inflammation, tissue remodeling, and matrix biology.
